You will delve into the stories and events that shaped its meaning and significance. The exploration continues in a more authentic and artistic atmosphere with a visit to the Sandaga Market, the vibrant heart of local commerce, where colors, scents, and craftsmanship intertwine. You will then have the pleasure of visiting the Village des Arts in Dakar, a unique space dedicated to creativity, where Senegalese paintings, sculptures, and crafts reveal the country's rich cultural heritage. This is the perfect opportunity to admire sumptuous traditional attire and exquisitely crafted works of art.

A delicious lunch will be offered to you in a local restaurant, to appreciate Senegalese gastronomy in all its authenticity.

In the early afternoon, head towards Saly, a seaside resort popular for its fine sandy beaches and peaceful atmosphere. Upon arrival, check into your hotel, followed by a well-deserved moment of relaxation by the sea, soothed by the gentle sound of the waves.

The day will end beautifully with a friendly dinner, before enjoying a peaceful night at the hotel, in an environment conducive to rest and escape.

DAY 3: Saly – Foundiougne

The day begins gently with a pleasant breakfast, a prelude to an adventure rich in discoveries and emotions.

Accompanied by experienced guides, you will encounter iconic animals roaming freely in their natural habitat. Giraffes, rhinoceroses, antelopes, and many other species will offer you a fascinating spectacle, sometimes even up close, making this experience as immersive as it is unforgettable.

The adventure continues with an authentic and welcoming experience within a local community. You will be invited to share a unique moment by participating in the preparation of a traditional Senegalese dish, accompanied by a refreshing local juice. This special exchange will be followed by a convivial lunch at a local's home, for a complete immersion in the culture and flavors of the region.

 

In the afternoon, we head to Foundiougne, a historic town with a rich commercial past, nestled in the heart of the SineSaloum. Renowned for its authentic landscapes and numerous tourist attractions, it offers an ideal setting for a variety of activities: peaceful walks in the bolongs (tidal creeks), birdwatching, traditional fishing, or exploring the surrounding nature.

Upon arrival, you will be settled into the charming Baobab sur Terre Camp, a peaceful place in perfect harmony with nature. There, you will enjoy a relaxing setting, ideal for unwinding and getting away from it all.

The day will end with a delicious dinner, before a peaceful night at the camp, lulled by the calm and authenticity of the Sine-Saloum.

 

 

JOUR 4 : Foundiougne –  Toubacouta

The day begins with a delicious breakfast, before setting off to discover the rich heritage of Foundiougne, a historic town with authentic charm. You will explore its iconic sites: the bustling port, the old trading houses that bear witness to its flourishing past, and the war memorials steeped in history.

The adventure then takes an even more immersive turn with a pirogue excursion into the heart of the Sine-Saloum bolongs. Glide gently across the calm waters bordered by lush mangroves, you'll experience a unique and intimate encounter with nature. Between wildlife observation, enchanting landscapes, and an introduction to traditional fishing, every moment will be an invitation to wonder.

During this getaway, an exceptional interlude awaits you: a picnic on an idyllic islet nestled in the heart of the bolongs. In this paradisiacal setting, between sky, water, and mangroves, you will savor your included lunch, for a moment of absolute relaxation and total disconnection.

At the end of the day, return to Foundiougne, then departure towards Toubacouta, which you will reach at the magical hour of sunset, when the landscapes are adorned with golden hues.

DAY 5: Toubacouta – Ziguinchor

Performed by Serer women, this artistic expression blends songs, rhythmic dances, and percussion made from calabashes, accompanied by traditional instruments. DAY 6: Toubacouta – Ziguinchor – Edioungou

The day begins with a pleasant breakfast, before heading towards the magnificent region of Ziguinchor, a true jewel of Casamance, renowned for its lush vegetation, rich culture and the legendary hospitality of its inhabitants.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed for an inspiring tour of a fruit processing unit, run by courageous Diola women. Engaged in income-generating activities, they add value to local products through traditional skills passed down through generations. This immersive experience will allow you to discover the different stages of processing, while engaging with these dynamic women who play a vital role in local economic development.

You will then continue your experience in Édioungou, a charming village nestled between bolongs and rice paddies. A convivial lunch will be served there, showcasing the authentic flavors of Casamance, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The afternoon will be dedicated to discovering a unique artisanal skill: the making of traditional door hangers. You will have the opportunity to observe the women of Édioungou at work, skillfully handling the materials and tools necessary to create these objects that are both utilitarian and aesthetically pleasing.

JOUR 7 :  Édioungou – Oussouye  – Mlomp  – Pointe Saint Georges

The day begins with a delicious breakfast, before setting off for Oussouye, the true spiritual and cultural heart of Casamance. This emblematic village is considered the cradle of Diola culture, where ancestral traditions, rites, and customs have been jealously preserved for generations.

In Oussouye, you will have the exceptional privilege of being received in audience by King Sibilumbaï Diédhiou and his royal court. A central figure in Diola society, he embodies spiritual, religious, and traditional authority. Residing in the sacred groves, he is seen as the intermediary between humans and spirits, the guarantor of peace, social equilibrium, and community values. This rare encounter will immerse you in a profoundly mystical and authentic dimension, at the heart of local beliefs.

Continue your journey to Mlomp, a village with a unique charm. Along the way, you'll witness a typical scene of rural life: the traditional palm wine harvest, an age-old skill practiced with expertise. In Mlomp, you'll be captivated by its distinctive architecture, characterized by two-story mud-brick houses, a legacy of the time when Senegalese soldiers lived during World War II.

Your journey continues through Cagnoutes, before reaching the splendid Pointe Saint-Georges, nestled on the banks of the Casamance River. The afternoon holds an equally fascinating experience with the discovery of the Kanoufa Forest. You will reach an impressive lookout perched nearly 35 meters high in a centuries-old kapok tree.
